EVO ICL Procedure – The Next Generation In Vision Correction
The Eye Guys are once again proud to set new standards in vision correction with the breakthrough EVO Implantable Collamer Lens, an innovative technology recently approved by the FDA which corrects nearsightedness without the use of glasses or contact lenses.
Unlike standard contact lenses that go on the surface of the eye, the EVO ICL is positioned inside your eye between the iris (the colored part of the eye) and the natural lens where it stays for permanent vision correction. Unlike other vision correction procedures, EVO ICL is reversable and can be removed by our doctors, if needed or desired.
The exciting EVO ICL is the newest vision correction technology when it comes to offering our patients additional options to prescription eyeglasses or contacts. EVO ICL Procedure – What to Expect
EVO ICL is made of biocompatible Collamer material that works in harmony with your eye. Here is how we perform the EVO ICL procedure:
- During the minimally invasive procedure, our eye doctors will create a small opening in the cornea (front surface of the eye) that will be used to insert and position the EVO ICL.
- The procedure is typically painless since we use numbing eye drops.
- The entire procedure typically takes less than 20 – 30 minutes.
Most EVO ICL patients experience improved vision immediately following their procedure. The recovery time is faster than laser procedures and patients are able to return the work the day following their procedure.
The Eye Guys now currently offer the EVO ICL for patients between the ages of 21 and 45 years old. The EVO ICL is an additive lens meant to supplement your natural lens, and does not involve removing tissue. The EVO ICL does not replace your natural lens.
Instead, it’s placed in front of your natural lens. The EVO ICL treats and corrects up to -16 diopters of nearsightedness, as well as up to 4.0 diopters of astigmatism.
EVO corrects nearsightedness and astigmatism, and you can have it removed at any time.
